Iraq Cloning Facility Update (Sat Par News May 29, 2014)
The American funded livestock cloning facility (known as B23) near Baghdad has been stripped of all equipment, computers, and test animals. Members of jihadist Islamic State of Iraq were spotted by local security officials who were outnumbered and backed off from preventing the high tech looting. Many trucks were involved. American and Japanese scientists were perfecting methods to clone livestock that would fare better under the regions harsh conditions and reduce the need for antibiotics. Japan officials in previous interviews have expressed concern that the terrorist  group would want to clone soldiers in the future. American scientists such as professor of Biology George T. Acknoid of the University of Maryland noted that he is not concerned given the fact that even if they were somehow able to continue the research and extend it to humans, the clone still has to grow up just like any human being. "It would be far more efficient to just have more babies than to waste time and money on cloning soldiers!" In addition professor Acknoid noted that when you engage on any type of modification of reproduction, you go through a long period of "defect resolution" or clones that just do not come out right and you make adjustments, repeating the cycle. Japans previous concerns such as those of Dr. Kana Sutzio of the University of Tokyo were focused on the ability to produce large numbers of troops all at once. However Dr. Sutzio admitted to similar concerns that many batches need to be produced before that can become a reality.
